Me and Merle at it again..
Me and Merle (and penny) had another world adventure to Israel, Jordan and Palistine (west bank)!!!
So now what?
Well I am a constant failure at this blogging thing. I suppose I was too busy.
I was sure with graduating that I would make a stand against business. But, as I filled out my planner yesterday I realized I was trying to make a stand on pudding and sinking quickly.
Well, now what? I am blogging at dashofcash.blogspot.com but that is only recipees. You should still follow if you wish.

It's been a while.
I know I said that I would continue to blog while at school, but that is easier said than done. Things are not stressful, but they are non-stop. What I don’t like about my year right now have to do with two things: not living on the same hall with my best friends all right there, and having very little time for spontaneity.
Last year I lived on P-2 (Perrin Hall Second Floor) and it was...

Well, so far the dorm life has been exciting. I have had fun catching up with friends and family here. (I don’t have any blood related family here, but family is the best relational word to use for some of the people in Arkadelphia).
Some highlights have been exciting times with the other RD’s and HD’s of the dorms, seeing Terese and her baby belly, seeing the Motl’s, Jeff...
To Be Continued...
Well, I have decided to continue blogging. France may have made it’s exit from the story line for a while but there is much to be continued.
It has been interesting since I have been home. There is a lot to proccess and not much time to do it. I have spent some of my time on wedding things for Devin. A good amount of my time has been with my mom and Casey and Kelly- all three of which are a...

Tears... me and my silly tears.
I am a cryer. I don’t expect that to be a surprise to most of you. It is true. I cry when I am happy and when I am sad… and when I am experiencing any extreme emotion, really. So, today I have started my sensitive I-am-about-to-leave stage. I am sad to leave, and I am sad knowing I only have a handful of days with my family and friends from home when I return. I am happy to go back to...

Sun
The sun here is out to get me. I am now burnt for my third time in this city… this time is definitely yhe worst because my shins got burnt. I have two words: VERY PAINFUL!
The last time I let the sunshine paint me red was at the tour de france… YEP! I was standing at the start line! It was really fun. Del, Kate and I left for the street at 8:30 in the morning. The race took off at...
Prayer Requests
Prayer walking is woderful!
Pray for:
safety- on the streets and for ‘my girls’
wisdom- what streets to focus on and how to start relationships
organization- for the visitors we have coming in a week
unity- in the body of Christ in this city
encouragement- I am getting pretty tired and I need the Spirit’s strength
Kate- pray for Kate as she gets used to living and working...
Back in France
Since I have been back from Rome things have been busy; which is great! I had to start getting ready for Kate to come! Kate is another American who is going to work in France for a couple of years. I have been waiting with excitement for her arrival all summer!
I have found a great coffee shop that sells only free-trade and environment-safe foods and drinks! The people that work there are really...
The Rest of Rome
The rest of Rome contains my favortite things about Rome:
Mamertine Prison, Vatican City, continued traditions, and new friends.
I have lots to share about all of these things but I am going to take a quick break to update on France.
And, yes I will put up pictures soon.
When in Rome... cliché title, but very fitting.
First of all, as pointed out by my Grandma, I never explained my reason for going to Rome. The reason: to go to ROME!!!!! WOOO HOO! I have been counting down to the day that I could visit Rome. So, vacation was my purpose.
Now- back to the trip.
We arrived in Rome and for the first five minutes Courtney and I repeated out loud (and internally I am sure), extreamly girly shouts of “OH MY...

Warning: This blog cannot, in any way, describe how amazing my trip was.
This adventure started with traveling, as most do. I love traveling. Not just arriving and being places, but the actual trip. This trip, I wasn’t in an airport or a car (both of which I love); instead, we traveled by train. This marked my first long-distance train ride! Courtney and I met on the street at 6:00am. We...

Before Rome
Before Rome… it’s hard to remember. But choosing to blog about this is as much for me as it is for you.
I have the French soleil (sunshine) to thank for my Mediterranean initiation. While playing ultimate Frisbee with some friends I left with what became a mess of tanlines and peeling. I am starting to enjoy Ultimate more now; but, despite Medhi’s encouragement, I don’t think I am improving. I am...
Let's Go!!!
Okay, I want to start with an appology because I promised an update and didn’t deliver. I’m sorry.
But, I am cutting it close on preparing for this Rome trip, so I need to skip the update until later.
Please pray for safe travels to Rome. I think it will be a pretty awesome experience.
Prayer is going well! The Lord is so faithful to us! The wind has been stong here and I pray that...
#1 Most Missed!!!!
I have officially decided what I miss most. No I am not going to say WHO i miss the most. Just WHAT I miss the most.
HUGS!!!!
I miss the constant hugging that we americans take part in. I like the whole, greet everyone with a kiss that they do here. It’s fun, and sweet. But i miss being hugged a lot. I mean.. I have some friends here that hug me, american friends. But that’s only...
Prayer Requests
I am meeting with my language partner today and I feel very unprepared! Pray that I will be able to remember my vocabulary.
I am leading Bible Study today on Luke 8:26-50. There is so much I would love to discuss about this passage. Pray that I will follow the Spirit’s leading and not my own. Pray that the Lord would teach my heart what he is saying in his word.

Ramble, ramble, ramble... that's what I do!
Well, the last two days have been nice because the construction workers have been off work. Not today though, as I GLADLY (sarcasim is pretty thick here) remembered at 7:45am. I seriously thought that the guy with the jack hammer was in my room. BUT… I guess I can’ complain because i have a great place to sleep and a good sturdy roof over my head. The jack-hammer just adds to my...

Glance at my last few days...
Well, first of all, I love Allison Cornell. I know she is probably reading this… Hi, Allison! I have been really blessed by Allison’s music this summer. I feel as though our hearts are moving in similar patterns of step because her musci seems to line perfectly up with my thoughts and payers. I am about to post another song that, if you have read my earlier ramblings, you will...
It's my Birthday!
Today is going to be and has been, a great day. I went for a run thismorning in my favorite park. There was a couple sitting on my favorite bench… BUT, they were super cute… So I didn’t mind. The fountains that I like to watch weren’t on anyway. I found another bench that is now a favorite back-up bench. I decided today that maybe I could live here. The parks are so nice....
Thoughts and Prayer Requests
Well, now that most of you who read this are used to the spontaneity of my posts I am going to switch moods yet again.
I have decided to share a better picture of what I am experiencing on a personal level.
I am having a hard time. I am still more than happy to be here, and very glad I decided to make the trip; but, I am also glad that I will be home in 47 days. Psalm 51 will give you a good...
Because you all want to know...
The answer to all of your wondering is 82…
There are 82 steps to my apartment and already I can feel victory on it’s way.
Truth is, no one asked about the stairs, but I wanted to share.
Today... stepping in sunshine.
Today I walked, and sat, and watched, and listened. The sunshine was beautiful. Today was full of blessings. I wore my new 5 euro dress and my 12 euro sandals and went for a walk… it was all together a hour or two long walk and I wasn’t just strolling. I stopped when I came to a beautiful park with fountains and a little out-door resteraunt. I had a peach iced tea, which is currently...

YELLOW!
I don’t know if you can tell by the two pictures I just put up… but yellow is definitely the theme of my apartment. It is definitely growing on me.
More updates later, but I am taking a vacation today. I am going to spend my day exploring, praying and listening to God’s word. I think it will be good for me.
I can feel it.
I can feel a couple things today:
Those of you who have been praying for me… I can feel them. Last night I felt so encouraged, even though nothing particularly encouraging happened. I did a lot of research yesterday… AKA I read a lot.
I can feel God’s power. This is hard to explain, especially with written word. BUt here is my attempt: I have been here a little over a week, and...
A day to celebrate...
So, about 30 min ago I had a BIG celebration (by myself of course) because of my french victory.
I went shopping at this huge wal-mart type grocery store earlier and if you have spent time around me enough you know that I don’t do well in fast moving crowds. Mix in another language, some of the hardest-to-steer carts EVER, and different systems of grocery shopping and you get one crazy...
Stories and Requests
This morning I woke up early, I guess it is something I do in new places. And yes, that means that last night I spent my first night in my apartment. It’s cute. There are sunflower stickers on the doors and glow in the dark stars on the ceiling. Everything is pretty much yellow white or gray. I like it and it is definitely a lot nicer than I expected for the price and conveniently less pricey than...

SO COOL!
Yesterday I went to English club. After that, I went to this culture duscussion at a little cafe nearby. There are some pastors here from the states and they wanted to hear more and learn more about the culture and religion here. SOme of the university students who speak english relatively well came. It went really well. I learned a lot about where the students are and as a result got a pretty...
Some Things:
Well, about my trip here- I thought I would share a few lessons I learned.
Lesson number one: Don’t eat lasagna during turbulance… just trust me.
Lesson number two: When in a line in Belgium, a good offense is the best defense.
Lesson number three: Before ordering an expensive smoothie, remember that the “small” size is actually small in other countries.
